Two categories of databases are included in this directory:

	Proprietary Databases : available online or on CD-ROM, information retrieval is subscription-based - the user has to apply for a login and password from the database vendor or host system. Database descriptions are provided, as well as links to their vendors and to the IMAAC nodes that access the databases.
	Public Domain Databases : available on the Internet and from which information retrieval is almost free-of-charge. Links to the websites that offer such databases are provided.

All databases disseminated via INFOMAT are clustered, according to their contents, into theme groups. By clicking on a given theme group under a selected category, you will find a list of databases, each having a link either to its full description (in the case of proprietary databases) or to its website (in the case of public domain databases).
